Ads

We all love getting stuff for free, and we want to keep PrintWhatYouLike free. Unfortunately, it does cost money to keep PrintWhatYouLike running. In order to pay the bills, we’ve placed ads on the toolbar. If you need more printing supplies, please consider buying your ink or paper through one of the ads on the toolbar to support PrintWhatYouLike and keep the service free. Thanks!

Also, if you’re interested in advertising on PrintWhatYouLike, send us an email.

I have no problem with the ad toolbar excep that it has no “x” to turn it off. After much clicking and muttering I finally discovered that clicking the bookmarklet allow me to interact with the page again. Perhaps you can add the “x” button to allow to turn off the ad toolbar manually

Personally I use PrintWhatYouLike to make clean copies of interesting pages in my archive, for example forum threads – in combination with Auto Pager (Chrome) I can load an entire multipage thread, click PWYL bookmarklet, mark only the interesting parts, isolate and save the result.

What I’d like to ask for is an ability to choose more indistinct parts of the page – for example single words. This could be done by hovering the cursor over the part a bit longer so that usual fast marking is unaffected.

Hi, When using the bookmarklet there should be an “[X]” in the upper right hand corner of the toolbar. Clicking that will turn off the toolbar. Also, clicking the bookmarklet button again will turn off the toolbar.

PWYL doesn’t let you select individual words. A long time ago there was a way you could select individual words by dragging the mouse over them. I removed it because it was really buggy, complicated to write, and not many people used it.

Unfortunately the “x” mark doesn’t always show up – I see it occasionally. Anyways pressing edit does the trick so it’s no problem for me now.

love your software, don’t have a problem with ads as long as they
don’t get in the way and are easily removeable….now you have
this MSN ad at the bottom of the page that is a pain to remove
and sometimes Won’t go away period! There’s nothing I hate
more than an ad that shows up in my saved .pdf, let alone
one that comes from Microsoft…please make it go away(easier)..
or don’t have it be included in my isolated text(even when I go
to extra lengths to get rid of parts of the bottom of some isolated
    texts)…
    thx

The only ads we have are in the left toolbar. If the ad is at the bottom of the page, it is part of the web page you are editing, and it is not one of our ads.
