Former Vols’ May 27 results

No. 2 seed Boston defeated No. 8 Miami, 104-103, Saturday in game No. 6 of the NBA Eastern Conference finals at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.

Former Vol Grant Williams did not start and played 22 minutes for the Celtics.

He totaled one point, three rebounds and three assists.

Williams went 0-of-4 in field goal attempts and 0-for-3 in 3-point attempts. He made 1-of-2 free throw attempts.

With the victory, Boston tied the best-of-7 series, 3-3, and is attempting to become the first team in league history to overcome a 3-0 deficit in a conference finals series.

Game No. 7 will take place Monday at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Tipoff is slated for 8:30 p.m. EDT and TNT will televise the contest.

Williams played at Tennessee from 2016-19 and left after his junior season as a two-time SEC Player of the Year.

He was a first-round pick by Boston in the 2019 NBA draft (No. 22 overall).
