Another Ex-Lakers Center Now Available for Reunion

The Los Angeles Lakers have a long list of questions to answer after being eliminated on April 29. They have yet to hire a new head coach after being spurred by Dan Hurley. It looks like they have pivoted back to JJ Redick, as some reports have revealed that he is the next man for the job.

Regardless, that is just one part of the equation that Los Angeles needs to answer. First, they must re-sign LeBron James but then they need to revamp this roster to become serious title contenders.

The Lakers will be in the market to add to their frontcourt and a former Laker may be an option. Now the latest report revealed that another former Lakers big man could be up for grabs.

According to Kevin O’Connor of the Ringer, Milwaukee center Brook Lopez may be on the trade market this offseason.

“There are rumblings that the Bucks would like to play a more versatile style of defense next season, which raises the question of whether Brook Lopez has a future there. “

Lopez currently has one year left on his deal for $23 million, which makes him an easy trade target and he’s someone the Lakers should call on.

He played for the Lakers from 2017-2018 so he has experience in the City of Angels. Lopez, 36, can still be effective and thrive in the frontcourt next to Anthony Davis.

The 2021 NBA Champion can space the floor due to his smooth jumper and can still be a capable rim protector.

In the 2023-24 season with the Milwaukee Bucks, Lopez averaged 12.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.4 blocks, and shot 36.6% from beyond the arc.

A veteran center with a championship pedigree like Lopez would be the perfect player to bring back to Los Angeles.
