PHILADELPHIA — Paul Schiffner had been in the United States for a couple of years, bouncing from Newark to North Philadelphia, when he attended the event that changed his life.
This was December of 1987, a couple years after he made the move from his native Brazil to the City of Brotherly Love. Sporting a Randall Cunningham jersey he had recently bought, Schiffner headed to Veterans Stadium to watch the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Miami Dolphins — his first NFL game.
