Mayhem Cancel 40th Anniversary North American Tour Dates for Medical Emergency

The surviving members of Mayhem who have yet to murder each other are currently celebrating the fact that they managed, by some bizarre miracle, to make it to 40 years as a band. Unfortunately, the band’s 40th anniversary celebrations in North America have been cancelled, citing a medical emergency with one of the band members.

The band made the announcement on an Instagram post, saying:

“MAYHEM regrets to inform fans that the upcoming 40th anniversary performances in North America are cancelled due to a member of the band having a medical emergency that requires immediate surgery, which will result in a prolonged recovery period. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.

“Fret not, American and Canadian legion, as Mayhem will have something coming up next year that will make this up to those of you who have been disappointed by this news.

“Other upcoming shows will proceed according to plan…”

So just to clarify, these dates are now cancelled:

11/12: Montreal, QC @ Olympia 11/15: Toronto, ON @ The Concert Hall 11/17: Queens, NY @ Knockdown Center 11/18: Chicago, IL @ The Vic Theater 11/21: Los Angeles, CA @ The Wiltern 11/23: Denver, CO @ Ogden Theater

While these dates will continue as planned:
